Biography |
David was born in Batley, Yorkshire, in 1966. He grew up in Yorkshire and in Malawi, Central Africa. David studied law at Huddersfield Polytechnic, and then did his Solicitors Final Exams at the College of Law in London. He completed a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Studies at Leicester University in 1998, and is currently undertaking a part time PhD. David is an associate Partner at one of the regions largest firms of solicitors, and as well as practicing law provides a substantial amount of training for other solicitors. David was first elected to Broxtowe Council in 1999 to represent the Stapleford North ward. Following boundary changes in 2003 he was re-elected for the Bramcote Ward, and is now the chair of the Development Control committee. Away from work David is a keen musician, playing the guitar and piano. He is fan of most sports, especially football and motor racing, and during 2003 he qualified for his scuba divers licence. His favourite sorts of music are Mods, Northern Soul and light rock, and his favourite current artists are The Corrs, Avril Lavigne, Oasis, Paul Weller and Pink. David is a Methodist Local preacher and is the leader of the Youth fellowship at Grangewood Methodist Church. David is married to Gill, and they live with their cat in Bramcote. |
